merry christmas......

Oh my I don't usually get time to make my christmas cards. I believe  there are many of you out there that have the same problem.

Well I have just finished 100!!!!!! christmas cards in around 2 weeks and these are going out in the mail in bulk to our Australian defence force members who are serving overseas :)  Was very honoured to be able to contribute in a small way.

Birthday Girl Party

My SIL wanted me to do some craft at her daughter's 8th birthday recently.  As time wouldn't permit the girls making the whole bag, I had them ready and they attached the flowers - these were cut with my Cricut - didn't have my gorgeous Papertrey flower dies at this time :(

Just a close up - so very excited with how they turned out.....cute cute and SO popular at the party.  The rave reviews from the kids and their mums was just so exciting!

Now so the girls had something to "do" I made 3 little cards and stamped 3 Papertrey butterflies on a piece of cardstock.  Each girl coloured their butterflies and lucky me cut them out by HAND!! - 3 days later my new Papertrey butterfly die arrived ;) We then attached each butterfly with foam mounting tape to the centre of the cards and the cards fit snuggly in the paper handbags.  Such fun!!!!!!!!!!

Belated - Wedding Update Card

Forgot to upload this one....it was way back in December last year, my daughter's wedding cermony & reception venue fell through a month before the wedding!!! So hence the need for a "Wedding Update" invitation.  I 'whipped' these up very quickly and thought they were quite effective considering their simplicity.

Mother's Birthday Card

Not sure if I uploaded this before....getting forgetful in my "old" age! I had only just bought this punch, so had fun playing with it and Papertrey Heart Prints

Girlfriends Birthday

I just love the Papertrey Beautiful Bloom 2 dies!!! I am so very glad I bought all 3 sets and went mad making heaps of these 'scrunchy' flowers.  From those flowers came the inspiration for this card. Amazingly I just sat down and ideas just kept popping into my head. Love the end result, if I do say so myself :)

Happy Birthday Friend

I made this a while ago now and recently sent it to a Papertrey friend in the USA.  I was very happy with her glowing compliments :)

Wedding Thank Yous

Finally getting around to posting these. Along with all the other things I created for my recent wedding (4 months ago) I made these to thank our guests and was very very happy with the end result.

I kept it simple with colours, white and Spring Moss. Used the Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background pieces and cut the Spring Moss with Spellbinder Squares.

Stamps are from Fancy Flourishes by Papertrey (of course!) Thanks for looking and hope you can leave a comment :)

For my grand daughter's birth....

Just a quick card I made up to give to my granddaughter at the hospital, the day she was born.

Wedding Cupcakes and bouquet....

The Wedding Cake(s)

Oh these were so delicious........white mud cakes, with white chocolate icing and white chocolate love hearts. The stand is from IKEA and it is a keep sake from my mum.

Just a peek at my bouquet. It was made of artificial flowers, although so many people were shocked to find they weren't real. Due to the heat, I was told it is advisable to have artifical. I made it up myself too :)

Wedding wine and lanterns....

The Wine Thank You's

Sorry no stamping here.............................................................
These are the thank you gifts for our guests. The label is a photo that I took on our trip to Hawaii in 2006 - hence the frangipani theme for the wedding! I was so very happy with how these turned out.

The Wedding Decorations

These were placed on the tables - all six of them. We will use them again to put on our table outside when we entertain with a BBQ.....

Papertrey Petal Cones....

I made these petal cones and of course stamped Papertrey flourishes all over them. They are just white printer paper. The freeze dried petals were used to decorate the tables at my daughter's January wedding and now used at mine as scatters when we were announced as "husband & wife".

Here they are in their basket waiting for my neice-in-law to give them out to the ladies on the day...

more wedding stuff......

The Children's Placecards

We had a very small wedding and allowed children and allowed children - so I made the four
of them feel special with these placecards.

The Children's Favour Boxes

These are the "box in a bags" I made as the favour boxes for the four children....I put yellow 'candy' bananas in them.

My Papertrey Wedding......part 2

The Placecards

These follow the 'tropical' theme. I used Papertrey Spring Moss cardstock and a buttery yellow paper that I had. I used Spring Moss ink to stamp the flourish above the guest's name. Tied the top with tulle and attached a mini frangipani....

The Favour Boxes

I used the Papertrey "My Timeless Templates" - Tucked Away. I was so happy to find that I could put the 'flap' part in my cuttlebug and emboss just that part. Again I had hoped to layer with Papertrey cardstock, but time didn't allow. These had chocolates inside and I also put a scratch lottery ticket too.....

My Papertrey Wedding......

The Invitation

I have shown this before, but I thought it would look nice putting all the wedding things together.

I used Papertrey Spring Moss and "Celebrate Today" stamp. I would have loved to have used heaps more Papertrey, but I had to plan the whole wedding in less than 2 months, so these were it!

Mother's Day Cards...

This is a card I made twice, one for my mum and another for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. I used Coredinations Cardstock for the first time, ran it through my cuttlebug and then lightly sanded - loved the look, but a little disappointed it didn't match the gorgeous background paper a bit better.

Birthday Card....

Made this card for my mother's in law's birthday recently....just love the colour scheme and was pleased with the copic colouring I managed to do on the Papertrey Autumn Abundance stamp.

My wedding present.....

My husband got a car, but I got my dream camera....always wanted to get into photography and have managed for years with a point and shoot. Now I have the latest Canon Rebel 550D (it's called something different in the US). My hope is to get good enough for a planned trip to the US next year, just can't wait to photograph the Grand Canyon :)

My "New" Husband's wedding present...

This is what I 'joke' that I bought my "new" husband for a wedding present.......... he doesn't care, just so happy that I was happy for him to buy this.....his dream car 1969 Mach 1 GT Mustang....they would be popular over there in the US, but here in Australia they are still fairly rare....so we turn quite a few heads when we go out.

Here's a album I made for everyone to sign at the baby shower and now I can add photos to the blank pages that were left over...

Used Papertrey stamps all over the project. I was so happy to get this 8 x 8 album on special for $2.50!!! and the "baby girl" on the cover is bling...that was already on it too!! I found the refills for this album selling for $3.50...wow

Baby shower decorations....

Here is the lounge room that I decorated with words cut from my Cricut Expression and baby clothes that were my daughters and her husbands too.....

I brought the first pair of shoes to the baby shower and my son in laws mother did the exact same thing with her son's shoes.....no we didn't even talk about it! They looks so cute sitting together.

close up of cake....

Here are closeups of the "cake". My granddaughter nickname before she was born was "cupcake" so I made cupcakes everywhere I could. The cat soft toy on top of the cake is holding a little faux cupcake made with a face cloth!

Baby cake....

Quick update on baby shower activities....my granddaughter is here NOW! She arrived on 20th April at 8.30 am 7lbs 11oz...mum and baby fine. Her name HAYLEY EMMA

Here's the nappy cake I made.....

Baby shower continued......

Baby Favour number #2. Box in a Bag. Oh I had a ball making these, although they were time consuming.

This shows a few of the 20 I made and filled with marshmallows - pink and white of course!

Close up of the little cupcake tag and the tabs that help hold the ribbon as a closure.

Baby shower for "cupcake"

Well my daughter's expecting a daughter
on April 20th and her nickname is 'cupcake'
so that of course was my theme. I put white flower soft 'for icing and then put 'crystal' stickles on top...don't know if I was imagining, but it seemed to 'puff ' up which made it look even better. Was funny, kept telling my fiance...I'm busy icing cupcakes :)

Here are the pictures of 1 of the 2 favours I made for each guest. Sadly I made 20 of each and only 11 guests turned up...so quite a few left overs

I put 3 Ferrero Rocher wrapped in pink tissue paper and popped in a clear bag and stapled the topper to it.

Oh I was so so happy with the end result!

Another post to follow.....

My Copic Storage Solution.....

There have been many ways shown for Copic storage, but most of them are not available or too expensive for me here in Australia.....so I improvised. I bought this cute cane basket.

This photo shows how I divided it with cardboard, making individual colour sections. I have just used cardboard from cereal boxes, but hope to use some heavy recyled cardboard later..... Hope this idea might be useful for someone else????

Special Friend Birthday Wishes

This was a pleasure to make for a very special girlfriend of mine. I used pattern paper I had at the time, but hope to use the new Papertrey patterned papers that have come out over the last few months to recreated this. Oh looking forward to Papertrey releasing a new 'die' to cut these blooms, they make gorgeous layered flowers, but they are a pain to cut out each time.

A New Home Sweet Home......

I made this for a friend new home that she moved into last year. I gave her a candle set too with matching paper - yet again I forgot to take a photo of it.

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Forgot to post this one. A Papertrey card I made for one of my mother's birthdays. The base has a hole cut out and vellum inserted, then the pattern squares are attached to that, looks gorgeous when it's upright - sadly didn't take a good photo of it like that.

Oh baby shower invites too.......

Well added to the wedding preparations, I am in charge of decorations for my daughter's baby shower. She is due 20th April, so all things are busy busy around here.

I used the adorable 'onesie' template from Papertrey and was able to cut them on my cricut machine - very helpful and time saving!

Oh I am so very happy with how they turned out....wondered if I should have made my wedding invites like this.....ha ha.

Sadly I didn't have a 'baby shower' stamp from Papertrey, so used one I had.

Here's a link to another batch of these I made for a friend's grandchild's baby shower:-
